Yes, people...I actually have something to blog!
OK, I gotta say...this is not the setting I had planned for this picture. But it's getting increasingly difficult to find a good futuristic urban environment that actually let's you rez stuff. And when I saw this bike, I really wanted to use it for this picture, and it absolutely required rezzing.
So, I went out to the Marketplace, and on a hunch checked a vendor I've used before. Lo and behold, they had just the base I needed to build my set. I added some neon and a street light, and had (mostly) the look I was going for, for only 62 L$! So...what all did I buy and how much did it cost?
Chopper - This is a hunt gift from Sixx Yangtz for HISpose'. It's available through the end of May as part of the Men Only Hunt. Version 2 with more poses will be out June 1st, and you know I'll be buying it. What can I say...I'm an unabashed fan of Sixx's poses.
Set - This is the Souvenier from Zuerich from Tampon Inside, and the entire set of street, bus stop, newsstand, vendor machines, trash can, dumpster, construction barricades, and street signs are all included! You get the whole shebang for only 1 L$. It is an amazing deal! And it's mod, so you can move things around where you want them. Screw something up? No worries, as it's copy too. Just delete the old, and rez yourself a new one.
Neon - Got a lot of different signs from different folks.
Neon Sign - Tattoo Vertical 1 prim scripted
Neon Sign - Tattoo Horizontal 1 prim scripted both from Keep It Simple! for 10 L$ a piece.
Neon Tonight's Feature Sign from Neon Signs by Kaysera for 10 L$.
TA Old Style Neon from msw Tomorrow for 5 L$.
Neonlight "cocktails" from Titus Yoshikawa for 1 LS.
Streetlight - Mesh Street Light Lamp from Astaro/Tredpro for 25 L$.
I also got the corset I'm wearing for this shoot, and it's the Cute Punk Corset Mesh #1 from Casual Lies for just 35 L$. Everything else I'm wearing, I already had on hand.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

The "Why Do I Blog?" Meme
Berry's latest meme post is "Why Do I Blog?". These were interesting questions, and a lot of fun to answer. Even though there were a lot of them, because Berry is exceedingly nosy. ;o)
1. How long have you been blogging? Since May 9, 2012. I'm sort of a newbie.
2. Why did you start blogging? I got an idea for a type of blog I hadn't seen before, and figured, "What the hell?"
3. How many times a week do you post an entry? Um...this should be more like how many times a month. Other than Berry's memes I haven't been posting much lately. I've just been busy with other things, but should be back on track more regularly quite soon. I hope.
4. How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis? I read a bunch, both SL and RL. Too many, probably, but they range from personal blogs, to meme blogs, science blogs, SL blogs, all kinds of stuff.
5. Do you comment on other people’s blogs? Not as often as I should. But if it's a post that someone has Plurked, I'll usually comment there at least.
6. Do you keep track of how many visitors you have? Meh, not really. I have StatCounter installed on it, so I'll take a peek once in a while. But I don't have any advertisers or anything like that, so it's not a big thing for me.
7. Did you ever regret a post that you wrote? No. On this blog my posts stay pretty honest, low key, and on point. If someone doesn't like what I write then they don't have to come back. It's as simple as that.
8. Do you think your readers have a true sense of who you are based on your blog? I don't change my voice when I'm writing as my avatar. I'm pretty much "What you see is what you get" in both RL and SL, so I would guess so.
9. Do you blog under your real name? No, I use my SL name.
10. Are there topics that you would never blog about? I stay away from politics and religion. They don't really have a place in this blog anyway so that isn't hard to do.
11. What is the theme/topic of your blog? Basically, I do a lot of staged pictures inworld, which often require special props and/or costumes. Like the picture below which was featured in an earlier post. All the characters are me, and this picture needed A LOT of stuff.
Since I try not to spend an inordinate amount of money in Second Life, I'm often on the hunt for good quality items that are at as inexpensive a price as I can find them. Getting the most bang for your buck, so to speak. That's why I buy 99.99% of everything I blog, and always include not only who created them, but the specific name and link to the object where applicable, and of course how much it cost.

12. Do you have more than one blog? I do. I have this one, one for my gallery (which I keep saying I'm going to get back off the ground but I've been a bit lazy and there's nothing on it yet), and a third where I keep my erotic fiction. They're at the top of the sidebar if anyone wants to check them out.
13. What have you found to be the benefits of blogging? I've met some great people through it, and found some awesome stuff. Since the hunt for bargains is a big part of what I do I've also found some amazing creators, and like to give props to them as their items might be a bit out of the mainstream, and not be blogged otherwise.
14. So, why do you continue to blog? Being that this isn't a fashion blog or one that heavily relies on events, I can pretty much post anything I want, when I want to, and don't have to keep to any certain deadlines or creator/designer criteria. So that keeps it fun.
And there you have it!

SL Names Meme...
The next meme from Strawberry Singh is the the SL Names Meme.I love hearing stories about how and why people picked the names they did, whether it's a message board handle, or an SL avatar, so I thought this would be a fun one to do!
What’s your SL name? Skye Donardson
What made you choose this name? In earlier SL incarnations, I always had names that lent themselves to having nicknames. One was Gabrielle so everyone called me Gabby (which I despised). The other was Jezebel so everyone called me Jezzie (which I despised even more). So when it came time to create my current avatar, I wanted a short, simple name that couldn't easily be turned into some sort of nickname. Thus, I picked Skye. I chose Donardson for a last name because I thought it fit my first name well.
What’s your SL nickname, or what do most people call you? (if applicable) See above about my hatred of nicknames. Though I did have one friend coin me "Skyebeans" much to my dismay. And I'll probably regret posting that here as well.
What’s your SL display name? Why do you choose to have one? (if applicable) I don't have one.
Do you like your SL name? I do! :o)
If you could change your SL name, what would it be? I dunno. I've always liked the name Lily, so I might have picked that instead of Skye, but I didn't think of it until later.
What’s the craziest/funniest SL name you’ve ever seen? I'm terrible with names, which is why I appreciate being able to see avatar's names over their heads inworld. I have a mental thing where if I don't see a name constantly, it just doesn't register with me. So I honestly can't remember any that stand out.
What’s the coolest (your favorite) SL name you’ve ever seen? See above. Sorry! :o)

My Ten SL Firsts...
Miss Berry's come up with another new meme, this one being all about our 10 firsts in SL. I figured this would be quick and easy, so here goes:
First SL Friend: Jeza May. We haven't talked in ages, but she's still on my friend's list. I really do need to take some time and catch up with her, if we're ever online at the same time.
First SL Kiss: Sorry, I don't kiss and tell.
First SLex time/place/partner: And I sure as hell don't SLex and tell either!
First SL Partner/Girlfriend/Boyfriend/Wife/Husband: I've never been married or partnered to anyone in SL. The closest I got to a boyfriend was Tucor Capalini. He taught me a lot about building, and he was a total geek, and great friend. We always had a lot of fun doing pictures together, too.
First SL Job: I was a contributor to "Artisan" magazine. It was my job to find new, interesting places on the grid, take pictures, and report on them. Wyatt Benoir was the editor in chief. It was fun, but brief. I think the magazine only lasted about three issues.
First SL Creation: It was this sculpture. I hate the base anymore, but the I still like the boxes with the suspended balls inside. They spin, too, so they look like little planets. I should think about digging this out, retexturing it, getting rid of the base, and use it as a wall hanging. :o)
First Encounter with a Linden: Torley faved a few of my Flickr pictures once.
First Encounter with a SLebrity: A what? I generally don't acknowledge the existence of such a thing, but OK, fine. Yes, I had a fangirl encounter once. There was a woman on SL a while back that went by Melodious Source. I ran into her at [PXL] when we were both out skin shopping, and I was thrilled to meet her, and we became friends. She was, and still is, the biggest sweetheart. But she left SL a while back, and I don't know how many people would still remember her. But I miss her.
First SL Sim you fell in love with: DarkWood. I loved the cathedral and other builds there. It's not really as pretty as it used to be, but I still check it out once in a while, just to see if it's still there, and what's new.
First SL Blog Post: Since the blog is less than a year old, I don't have too much to be embarassed about. Here's a link to it, if you want to check it out.

Unlikely Allies
This week is all about wings and skins. Well, mostly...
The magnificent wings are the HISwings from HISpose' by Sixx Yangtz. There are five poses total in the pack, and each pose comes with wings specifically set to fit. You can make them either white or black with just a touch, depending on your mood. As usual, they are ridiculously priced at just 100 L$.
The skin on my female angel is one I've featured before, and is the Yuko Female Skin BND pale skin from Bird Next Door for a paltry 10 L$. The skin on my male angel is the Maar skin from T&T Design, and is promo priced at just 99 L$.
The weapons are from the Sword Pack by WipR7 Kumaki for 5 L$ (slightly modified by me), and the rock we're (I? Me?) are/is on is from Josh Susanto for 29 L$.
Have a good week, Everyone!

The SL Pet Peeves Meme...
Strawberry is at it again, now with the SL Pet Peeves Meme. This time, it all about the top five things that piss you off inworld. Now, I've never been one to shy away from giving my opinions on SL and what I don't like about it, so I thought this one might be kind of fun. (Warning: Foul language below.)
Now that I'm armed, and have put on my badass face, here we go.
1. Griefers. Assholes, all of them. Big muthafuckin' assholes. Seriously. What kind of sick and twisted satisfaction do these jackholes get out of making everyone else's SL lives miserable? They steal, they extort, they disrupt, and I wish LL would be more active in getting them to stop.
2. Talking Pregnant Bellies. You want to get preggers in SL? Fine. I think it's one of the stupidest things ever, but that's just my opinion. However, if you go out in public with it, shut the fucking thing up already. Because if I don't know you? I DON'T CARE!
3. BDSM/Gor RPing In Places Where That RPing Isn't Appropriate. Look, I get BDSM. I've lived it, I enjoy it, I have fun with it. But I prefer to keep it in places where it should be, namely a dungeon or the bedroom. I don't like Gor, but y'all Gor RPer's have beautiful sims to play on. Don't take it in public. You want to take your slave dancing at a nice club? Silks are just...no. Put some damn clothes on her. Girls love ballgowns, let her wear one.
You want to go shopping at a nice store with your sub on a leash? Again, clothes. You may enjoy seeing your sub's stripey naked ass, but I don't. Put it away. And for God sakes, people...keep the RP chat private. Not everyone around you wants to know what you're going to do to the poor thing when you get home. Have a little class.
4. Rude Noobs. No, I don't want to suck your freenis. And call me a stuck up bitch about it, and I'll launch you into the next sim. Also, if you have a legitimate question, at least preface it with a "Hello, I'm new here, do you have minute to help me out with something?" If I'm inworld, I'm usually busy with something. I don't mind helping you out, but you'd better ask me nicely. Otherwise? Block and ban, baby...block and ban. Is it any wonder I spend most of my SLife up on a platform in the sky?
5. People Who Go To HUGE Laggy Events All Scripted Up. Guess what, Buttercup? It's not all about you. Wear your system clothes, wear your unscripted hair if you must wear hair at all, go barefoot in your ugly SL avatar feet, and take off your goddam AO. We're having enough trouble getting around as it is without you coming to these things all glammed up and turning it into and even huger lag-fest for the rest of us. Most of us see you as a cloud or just grey anyway. Or do what I do...get yourself a cyborg skin like this one, then you can walk around bald and completely naked, and still look sexy and amazing doing it.
Wow. That was cathartic. I feel so much better now. ;o)
